ఓం ప్రాణదాయ నమః | ॐ प्राणदाय नमः | OM Prāṇadāya namaḥ
ప్రలయాదిషు యః ప్రాణాన్ ద్యతి ఖండయతీతి సః ।
విష్ణుః ప్రాణద ఇత్యుక్తో వేదవిద్యావిశారదైః ॥
ప్రళయాది సమయములందు ప్రాణుల ప్రాణములను ఖండించునుగనుక విష్ణుదేవుని ప్రాణదః అని విశారదులు కీర్తింతురు.

Pralayādiṣu yaḥ prāṇān dyati khaṃḍayatīti saḥ,
Viṣṇuḥ prāṇada ityukto vedavidyāviśāradaiḥ.
प्रलयादिषु यः प्राणान् द्यति खंडयतीति सः ।
विष्णुः प्राणद इत्युक्तो वेदविद्याविशारदैः ॥
At the time of praḷaya or cosmic dissolution, Lord Viṣṇu cuts of the prāṇa or life of all beings and Hence He is called Prāṇadaḥ by the learned.
Śrīmad Bhāgavata - Canto 11, Chapter 3
Śtityudbhavapralayaheturheturasya
Yatsvapna jāgarasuṣuptiṣu sadbahiśca,
Dehendriyāsuhr̥dayāni caranti yena
Sañjīvitāni tadavehi paraṃ narendra. 35.
:: श्रीमद्भागवते एकादशस्कन्धे तृतीयोऽध्यायः ::
श्तित्युद्भवप्रलयहेतुर्हेतुरस्य
यत्स्वप्न जागरसुषुप्तिषु सद्बहिश्च ।
देहेन्द्रियासुहृदयानि चरन्ति येन
सञ्जीवितानि तदवेहि परं नरेन्द्र ॥ ३५ ॥
He is the cause of the creation, maintenance and destruction of this universe, yet He has no prior cause. He pervades the various states of wakefulness, dreaming and unconscious deep sleep and also exists beyond them. By entering the body of every living being as the Supersoul, He enlivens the body, senses, life airs and mental activities, and thus all the subtle and gross organs of the body begin their functions. Know that He is the Supreme.

| वैकुण्ठः पुरुषः प्राणः प्राणदः प्रणवः पृथुः । |
| हिरण्यगर्भश्शत्रुघ्नोव्याप्तो वायुरधोक्षजः ॥ ४४ ॥ |
| వైకుణ్ఠః పురుషః ప్రాణః ప్రాణదః ప్రణవః పృథుః । |
| హిరణ్యగర్భశ్శత్రుఘ్నోవ్యాప్తో వాయురధోక్షజః ॥ ౪౪ ॥ |
| Vaikuṇṭhaḥ puruṣaḥ prāṇaḥ prāṇadaḥ praṇavaḥ pr̥thuḥ । |
| Hiraṇyagarbhaśśatrughnovyāpto vāyuradhokṣajaḥ ॥ 44 ॥ |
