ఓం పుణ్డరీకాక్షాయ నమః | ॐ पुण्डरीकाक्षाय नमः | OM Puṇḍarīkākṣāya namaḥ
పుండరీకం హృదయ మధ్యస్థం అశ్నుతే ఇతి హృదయ మధ్యస్థమగు పుండరీకమును అనగా పద్మమును చేరియుండువాడు. ఏ కమలము పుర మధ్యమునందు కలదో అనగా ఈ శరీరమనే పురముయొక్క మధ్యమునందున్న హృదయమును - పరమాత్ముడు ఉపాస్యుడుగా చేరియున్నాడని శ్రుతి తెలియజేయుచున్నది 'యత్పుండరీకం పురమధ్యసంస్థం'. కావున ఆ హృదయ పద్మమునందు 'ఉపలక్షితుడు' సన్నిధి చేసినవాడుగా 'గుర్తించబడువాడు' అని అర్థము. లేదా పుండరీకే ఇవ పుండరీకాకారే ఉభే అక్షిణీ యస్య పుండరీకములు అనగా పద్మముల ఆకారము వంటి ఆకారము కల రెండు కన్నులు ఎవనికి కలవో అట్టివాడు.
:: ముణ్డకోపనిషత్ - తృతీయముణ్డకే, ప్రథమః ఖణ్డః ::
ఏషోఽణురాత్మా చేతసా వేదితవ్యోయస్మిన్ ప్రాణః పఞ్చధా సంవివేశ ।
ప్రాణైశ్చిత్తం సర్వమోతం ప్రజానాం యస్మిన్ విశుద్ధే విభవత్యేష ఆత్మా ॥ 9 ॥
ప్రాణము, ఏ దేహమునందు ఐదు ప్రాణములుగా (ప్రాణ, అపాన, వ్యాన, సమాన, ఉదాన) ప్రవేశించెనో, ఆ శరీరమునందలి హృదయము నందు అతి సూక్ష్మమైన ఈ ఆత్మ, చిత్తముచేత తెలిసికొనదగినది. పరిశుద్ధమైన చిత్తమునందు, ఈ ఆత్మ ప్రకటమగును. ప్రజలయొక్క చిత్తమంతయు, ప్రాణేంద్రియాదులతో ఈ ఆత్మ వ్యాపకముగా నున్నది.
Puṇḍarīkaṃ hr̥daya madhyasthaṃ aśnute iti He pervades the puṇḍarīkaṃ, the Lotus of the heart. vide the Śruti Yatpuṃḍarīkaṃ puramadhyasaṃsthaṃ he pervades the Lotus that is in the center of the Purā or the heart that is situated at the center of body.
Or Puṇḍarīke iva puṇḍarīkākāre ubhe akṣiṇī yasya He whose eyes are of the form of a Lotus.
Muṇḍakopaniṣat - Muṇḍaka III, Canto I
Eṣo’ṇurātmā cetasā veditavyoyasmin prāṇaḥ pañcadhā saṃviveśa,
Prāṇaiścittaṃ sarvamotaṃ prajānāṃ yasmin viśuddhe vibhavatyeṣa ātmā. (9)
:: मुण्डकोपनिषत् - तृतीयमुण्डके, प्रथमः खण्डः ::
एषोऽणुरात्मा चेतसा वेदितव्योयस्मिन् प्राणः पञ्चधा संविवेश ।
प्राणैश्चित्तं सर्वमोतं प्रजानां यस्मिन् विशुद्धे विभवत्येष आत्मा ॥ ९ ॥
The soul is atomic in size and can be perceived by perfect intelligence. This atomic soul is floating in the five kinds of air (prāṇa, apāna, vyāna, samāna and udāna), is situated within the heart, and spreads its influence all over the body of the embodied living entities. When the soul is purified from the contamination of the five kinds of material air, its spiritual influence is exhibited.
| वसुर्वसुमनास्सत्यस्समात्मा सम्मितस्समः । |
| अमोघः पुण्डरीकाक्षो वृषकर्मा वृषाकृतिः ॥ १२ ॥ |
| వసుర్వసుమనాస్సత్యస్సమాత్మా సమ్మితస్సమః । |
| అమోఘః పుణ్డరీకాక్షో వృషకర్మా వృషాకృతిః ॥ ౧౨ ॥ |
| Vasurvasumanāssatyassamātmā sammitassamaḥ। |
| Amoghaḥ puṇḍarīkākṣo vr̥ṣakarmā vr̥ṣākr̥tiḥ ॥ 12 ॥ |
